The Role of Sulfur in Joint Pain
MSM is thought to deliver sulfur to the body in a useable way.
Sulfur helps maintain the structure of connective tissue by forming cross-linkages through disulfide bonds, i.e.,
sulfur strengthens the tissues that make up the joint.
Sulfur is
critical to good joint health. Glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) are the fundamental building blocks of joint cartilage,
and GAG molecules are linked together in chains by disulfide bonds. As the name implies, these bonds are between
two sulfur atoms. The disulfide bridges reduce conformational flexibility of GAG chains, making cartilage firm
and resilient. Cartilage integrity is thus a sulfur-dependent state.
MSM contains a lot of sulfur
– 34% by weight. While more research is needed to determine how the body absorbs the sulfur it needs from MSM, preliminary
studies in mice and in horses suggest that the sulfur in MSM is incorporated into proteins and into joint tissues.
Holy Basil
Holy basil is another Indian herb with a strong reputation for
being one of the herbal pain relievers. The reason it works comes down
to a compound in the herb called ursolic acid that has been shown to fight the enzymes which are responsible for
causing inflammation in the body. Not only does holy basil prevent inflammation but also swelling.
Turmeric
Most
commonly found in curry, this spice contains curcumin. Curcumin is a powerful ingredient that can also be useful in fighting
against chronic inflammatory conditions. Studies at one Midwestern facility found curcumin effective against both rheumatoid
arthritis and psoriasis. Today, turmeric is often added to supplements used as herbal pain medication.
Ginger
Ginger is a fantastic herb. It has been used for the treatment of many aliments. Studies
show it is very beneficial in relieving arthritis. Its anti-inflammatory properties make it a well
know arthritis treatment.
Ginger
contains zingibain, a special proteolytic* enzyme. Research shows that proteolytic enzymes have anti-inflammatory
properties. Taken as a tincture, capsule, as a tea or fresh, it does not have any reported
side effects to high dosages. A dish prepared with ginger will actually give you a medicinal dose of
the herb.
*proteolytic: the hydrolysis of proteins
into simpler compounds by the action of enzymes.
Green Tea
Green tea contains
a type of polyphenol known as epigallocatechin-3 gallate, or EGCG, that inhibits the expression of the interieukin-8 gene.
This is a key gene involved in the rheumatoid arthritis-inflammatory response. Green tea is found to reduce the inflammatory
response as EGCG shortcircuits the process that leads to inflammation.
The researchers
suggest that green tea affects arthritis by causing changes in various arthritis-related immune responses—it suppresses
both cytokine IL-17 (an inflammatory substance) and antibodies to Bhsp65 (a disease-related antigen), and increases cytokine
IL-10 (an anti-inflammatory substance).
Bonswellia Serrata
Boswellia serrata is a medium sized branching tree that grows in the dry, mountainous regions of India.
The purified compound obtained from the trees' gummy resin (a type of Guggul) is used in India for the treatment of
chronic inflammatory arthritis. During the last decade, extensive studies have been undertaken to better understand
the action of boswellia serrata. Results from these studies show that boswellic acids are very effective in
rheumatic conditions and are safe for human use.
A boswellic acid mixture is used in India for arthritis treatment. A double-blind
crossover study of patients with osteoarthritis demonstrated that a preparation containing Boswellia serrata significantly
reduced disability scores and pain. Boswellia's anti-inflammatory properties can help to reduce aching and stiffness,
especially when associated with low back pain. Boswellia can be taken internally as well as applied topically to
affected joints to relieve inflammation associated with these joint disorders.
Bromelain
As a natural treatment for arthritis pain, the enzyme
bromelain works much the same as COX-2 inhibitors and NSAIDS, by stopping the production of prostanoids
that cause swelling and pain. In addition bromelain breaks down fibrin, a protein that can impede blood circulation
and cause blood clotting, which contributes to chronic pain. The effectiveness of bromelain as an arthritis
pain treatment has been well recorded in many clinical studies and experimental models. Joints
and soft tissue are often most affected by arthritis pain. Bromelain allows pain relief by blocking thromboxane
synthetase, preventing pro-inflammation prostanoids from building up.
Skullcap
The chemistry of skullcap
varies considerably between species, those who contain the compound scutellarin are the ones used in herbal medicine. The
plant has been used for centuries by herbalists as an effective nerve tonic and sedative. Its common uses include relief
of nervous tension, anxiety and nerve pain.
Resveratrol
The resveratrol in grapes has long been heralded for its heart-healthy properties.
But the same compound may also help reduce symptoms of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, according to Joseph
Maroon, MD, in his book The Longevity Factor.
In a recent study, researchers found that resveratrol helped
soothe inflamed joints in animals. Resveratrol stops inflammation the same way aspirin and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory
drugs do — by inhibiting the molecular switch that turns inflammation on and off in the body.
Berberine
(hcl)
Naturally
inhibit inflammatory COX-2 enzymes for fast pain relief.
Pain
Rx has been formulated
to produce effects similar to the popular pain medications prescriptions,
such as Vioxx
(Withdrawn by FDA), Celebrex and Tramadol, which come with complex potential side effects that make one wonder why anybody would even swallow such
medications. The reason that people are willing to take potential health risks with such medication is pain
can be intolerable. Pain Rx has proven fast pain relief results without any known
side effects, including addiction, unlike prescription pain killing drugs. Pain Rx when compared to prescription
pain medications is the winner, with no prescriptions to fill and is a fraction of the cost.
These
days many people have lost health insurance benefits and cannot afford doctors or the prescriptions they write.
If this is your case, we invite you to give Pain Remedy FST a try. It could be just "what the doctor ordered"
without the high costs and potential additional health risks.
Over the counter pain medications do not come without
health risks. They can cause high blood pressure, liver and kidney damage, ringing of the ears and internal
bleeding, just to name a few. Pain RX has no know side effects because it is considered food,
which is the best medicine any one could possibly give the human body.
A formula doe not have to be complicated to bring
results. It has to be right. Pain RX is the right combination of all natural nutrients for
fast pain relief. Check it out below.
